The aim of the center; to organize, conduct, support, develop distance education activities, related scientific activities and applications at undergraduate and graduate levels and within the scope of education programs based on communication and information technology, and to contribute to the development of cooperation with relevant organizations.

Targets:

• At undergraduate and graduate levels, To support and develop education, thesis studies and scientific research in remote sensing, digital image processing, geographic information systems, satellite and space technologies, global positioning system and similar fields, to plan, propose and implement application projects, 
• To create a library, publication, software, and image archive related to the field of study,
• To organize congresses, conferences, symposiums, seminars, courses, special days, and similar national and international scientific meetings on the subjects that fall within the field of study, to announce the developments related to the studies to the public,
• To cooperate with domestic and foreign organizations suitable for the purpose, to exchange information and personnel.
